The Admissions Process
Applications for Enrollment are generally accepted between October 1st – February 28th for the following school year. However, new applicants may be considered mid-year, if a vacancy exists. Applications are considered complete upon submission of the Application for Enrollment form, a recent photograph of the child and payment of the application fee.
Attending an Open House. SBMA Open House events offer prospective families an opportunity to meet our amazing teachers, learn more about our Montessori and Second Language curriculum, tour our newly renovated facility and more. Reservations are not needed, and children are welcome to attend our Open House events held in November and January of each year.

Family Visit & Intake Interview. Following the receipt of your Application for Enrollment, our Office will schedule a child assessment visit with our Montessori Directress and a parent interview with our Head of School. This is very warm and inviting process designed to make you and your child feel comfortable with the school. Appointments are available from October – February of each year.
Observing a Class. First-hand observation of the Montessori environment is the best way to understand what Montessori is about and how it works. For many parents this is the first step towards enrollment. Orientation tours and classroom observations are given by appointment and can be done in conjunction with the Family Visit & Intake Interview.
Acceptance. It is our belief that the enrollment decision is a matter of mutual assessment and understanding between family and school. Your child’s successful experience at SBMA is grounded in the families firm support of the efforts, which flows from your substantial basic accord with Montessori values. To this end we want to provide every opportunity for you to make your enrollment decision a fully informed one. Enrollment offers are generally made in February, for the following academic year. Once offered a space, families have 15 days to return the Enrollment Agreement and Tuition Deposit required to guarantee enrollment.
